The exhibition brought together new works by seven artists from the UK and Europe, exploring themes of lust, exploration, sarcasm, sincerity and desperation. Each of the exhibiting artists dealt with these issues through formal manipulation and the historicity of their chosen medium.
To run alongside the exhibition we programmed an evening of short films, clips and music videos called Pretty Deep TV. The event expanded on themes in the exhibition and highlighted the curators' inspiration and influences.
To conclude the exhibition we invited four of the exhibiting artists to talk with the curators about their own work and how it related to themes in the exhibition. The talk was open to all and took on a conversational format with people encouraged to take part. This provided valuable insight into the working methods of each artist.
